【プロフィール】
鹿児島県奄美大島出身。2002年に「ワダツミの木」でデビュー。ボーカリストとしてさまざまなステージでその唯一無二の歌声と存在感を示している。2012年、2月6日にデビュー10周年を迎え、初のベストアルバム「語り継ぐこと」をリリース。戦後70年となる2015年7月、“忘れない、繰り返さない”というコンセプトのもと、「今こそもう１度、平和を真剣に考える年になって欲しい」という平和の思いを込めたニューアルバム『平和元年』をリリースし、同作にて第57回日本レコード大賞『企画賞』を受賞。2018年に自身の原点である「奄美シマ唄」の新録アルバム『元唄～元ちとせ奄美シマ唄集～』を、2019年には同作を国内外の鬼才がREMIXした楽曲を収録した、アナログレコード『元唄幽玄～元ちとせ奄美シマ唄REMIX～』をリリース。2020年、新曲「感謝」が長府製作所のCMに起用され、注目を集めた。 2021年はインディーズミニアルバム「Hajime Chitose」「コトノハ」リリースから20年に。「ワダツミの木」の衝撃デビューから満20周年となる2022年に向けて、YouTubeアーティストチャンネル＆公式Twitter開設やワンマンライブなど、多数の企画がスタートしている。

[Chitose Hajime]
Born in Amami Islands, Kagoshima-south Japan, she has been a singer for local music style Shima-uta(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shima-uta) and got many music awards since she was a teenager.

In 2002, she debuted with Japanese pop style song – the first single ‘Wadatsumi No Ki/A Tree Of Neptune’, became a mega hit. In Fact, the single reached the No.1 sales as a newcomer in that year.

After a decade, released the best album in 2012 and in 2014, the reggae album from Sly and Robbie which she participated as a guest singer, was nominated for the Grammy Awards.

In 2015, when it was 70th memorial year after the war finished, she released an album ‘Heiwa Gannen/The First Year Of Peace’ with full of thoughts and wishes for the world peace as a mother of 2 children, and the album got an Japanese major record award as a good concept album.

In 2018, she’s returned to her original style and released the unique album called ‘Hajime-Uta/A Collection Of Shima-uta’.

In 2019, the analog record “Hajime-Uta Yugen -/A Collection Of Shima-uta REMIX -” released, which includes songs from the same work REMIXed by geniuses from Japan and abroad.

Last year 2021,to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her indie debut selection album “Kototowa”is released.

Now move back to Amami Islands with her family, still singing regularly as a solo singer and sometimes as a guest singer. She is one of the major Japanese divas in those 20 years.
